The fifth classes have been completing the FYI career programme. They have been learning about career opportunities and researching the skills and subject requirements needed for these careers. The co-ordinator and Ms. Tully organised a career day in school where volunteers from a range of different careers visited each class. The children were able to chat to the volunteers about their careers and the paths leading to them. They will be visiting universities and colleges in the area early in September. The fifth classes organised and ran a cake sale in aid of St. Ronan's NS Table Tennis club. A massive thank you to all the students, staff and parents for supporting the day with their fabulous baking and generous buying. An amazing display of cakes and treats were on offer on the day and a hugely enjoyable day was had. The cake sale was the most successful one in the school's history raising a total of 850 euro for a very worthy cause. Well done! The fifth class children visited the DSPCA in Rathfarnham on Thursday the 14th of March. They had a lovely morning learning about animal welfare and the work of DSPCA. They were also introduced to the many dogs, cats, goats, pigs and horses living there. Music Generation were filming in our school on Thursday the 31st of January for their website. They observed violin and orchestra practices and interviewed staff and students about their experience with music.
